Wayne Wadley, C.E.T.
President and Chief Executive Officer
A founding director of GEOCAN, Wayne Wadley helped establish the company in 1998. Prior to that, Wayne was the vice president, Production/Operations for Danoil Energy Ltd. which later became part of Acclaim Energy Trust (now Canetic Resources Trust). From 1989 to 1992, he held the position of production superintendent with OMV (Canada) Ltd., an Austrian-based oil and gas production company with operations in Canada. Wayne is a Certified Engineering Technologist, receiving a Diploma in Petroleum Resources Technology from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Edmonton in 1980.
Bradley (Brad) Farris, B. Comm., M. Ec.
Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer
A founding director of GEOCAN, Brad Farris helped establish the company in 1998. In his career, Brad spent three years (1993-1996) with Canadian Fracmaster Ltd. as senior economist, focusing on international projects in Russia, China, and the Middle East. From 1980 to 1992, he held various financial positions within Gulf Canada Resources Ltd., in the Frontier Development, Corporate Finance and the International Division, concentrating on exploration and development opportunities in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Russia. Brad earned a post graduate diploma in International Economics from the University of East Anglia, Norwich, England in 1990 and a B.Comm (Finance) from the University of Calgary in 1980.
Rick Musial, P.Geol..
Vice President, Exploration
Rick Musial joined the company in 2005 and brings over 23 years of geological expertise to the management team at GEOCAN. His broad range of experience includes geographically diverse regions from SE Saskatchewan to West Central and northern Alberta to the Peace River Arch; he has drilled over 250 exploration and development wells including over 90 horizontal wells in a wide variety of geologic plays. Rick received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology (Honours) from the University of Western Ontario in 1982, is a member of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists and has authored several publications and presentations.
John Charuk, B. Comm.
Vice President, Land
Prior to joining GEOCAN in 2004, John Charuk was employed in various staff and managerial positions with junior and intermediate companies including Post Energy, Orbit Oil & Gas, Remington Energy and Maxx Petroleum. From 1989 to 1996, John was a land representative for Chevron Canada Resources, with primary responsibility for their West Pembina Business Unit. He also has extensive experience in GEOCAN's core areas of Lloydminster and Central Alberta. A member of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen (CAPL) and the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL), John received a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Calgary in 1991. He currently serves as chairman of the CAPL membership committee.
